practicing physician and board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Eck
currently works in a multi-specialty private practice with three other
physicians. With husband John Eck, MD, Alieta Eck developed and founded
the Zarephath Health Center in Zarephath, NJ, which opened in
September, 2003. The center serves the poor, uninsured and
under-insured, relying on volunteer physicians, nurses and other

Dr. Eck has spoken at
various health care conferences and wrote a chapter in the book, The
Changing Face of Health Care, 1998, titled “Funding Health Care Through
the Church.” She has written extensively on health care reform and has
testified in Trenton on various health care issues. Dr. Eck testified
before the Joint Economic Committee of the US Congress in April, 2004
about the US healthcare system regarding the roles of government,
insurance and charity.
She traveled to the Caribbean island of
Antigua in 2005-2006, developing a business plan and presenting to the
prime minister and cabinet the concept of medical tourism.
Dr.
Eck is a BS graduate of Rutgers College of Pharmacy, and got her MD
from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She did her Internal
Medicine residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, New
Brunswick, and was board certified in Internal Medicine in 1985.
Dr. Eck is a member of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, and the Christian Medical Association.
