Dr.
Dotson is the owner and chief surgeon/ophthalmologist at the Refractive
Surgery Center, a state of the art eye surgery clinic. He served as
Chief of Ophthalmology Service in the U.S. Army at Irwin Army Hospital
in Fort Riley, Kansas (Rank: Major), 1979-81. He has been certified by
the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1980. He specializes in laser
and microsurgery of the anterior (front) segment of the eye. In
addition to medical school, Dr. Dotson completed five years of
specialized training and remains current in his field through ongoing
courses. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the International
Society of Refractive Surgery, the American College of Eye Surgeons and
the International College of Surgeons. He is widely published in
medical journals and reference textbooks and has patented several
ophthalmic surgical instruments. Dr. Dotson serves on the Board of the
American Board of Eye Surgery.
He received his B.S. degree from
University of Tennessee at Knoxville, 1971; his M.D., from the
University of Tennessee at Memphis, 1974; his American Board of
Surgery, Subspecialty Certification in Cataract and Implant
Surgery,
1993, 2003; his American Board of Eye Surgery, Subspecialty
Certification in Refractive Surgery (Incisional Keratotomy), 1994; and
